The Charles family have been involved in the building industry since 1970 when Richard’s father David started his own company. Richard began working for his father in 1980, completing his carpentry apprenticeship in 1984. Richard continued to study as he worked, obtaining a Builder’s Registration license in 1995.

After the retirement of his father David in 1998, Richard launched his own business specialising in bathroom renovations. Richard broadened his work to residential construction in 2002, establishing Creations Homes. As Creations Homes began to branch into non-residential construction Creations Constructions was born.

Creations Homes aims to conduct all heritage and historical work in line with the Burra Charter 2013, using traditional materials and methods to preserve the cultural and historical significance of the building and site.
